Your accommodations will be on bed and breakfast basis that offers you a meal plan for your entire tour. Day by Day Itinerary
Day 1: Kigali – Ruhengeri
Arrive at Kigali International Airport and be met by our driver/guide. You will take part in meet and greet, hear some comments by the driver about the safari and then head to Ruhengeri. Dinner and your overnight stay are at Five Volcanoes Boutique Hotel. (You may wish to sleep in Kigali depending on your time of arrival to the airport before heading to Ruhengeri in the morning).
Day 2: Volcanoes National Park
After breakfast, be at the office of RDB at 7:00 am for comments and instructions by the guide concerning the trekking of gorillas and briefing by the Volcanoes National Park’s guides. We encourage, for your own enjoyment, that your ensure you are fit and healthy for this tour. It is important to bring good hiking boots, long trousers, gloves for protection against stinging nettles, snacks, and sufficient drinking water because it gets hot and humid during the day. You will spend an hour you will never forget with the gorillas. Return later in the evening to your hotel for lunch. Later, enjoy dinner and your overnight stay.
Day 3: Golden Monkey Trekking
On your third day, you will take part in a day of golden monkey trekking in Volcanoes National Park. During this trek, you will also have the opportunity to view the park’s volcanoes. You will return for lunch at the hotel and then proceed to Gisenyi to visit the Twin Lakes of Burera and Ruhondo. Head to Kivu Serena hotel later in the evening for dinner and your overnight stay.
Day 4: Volcanoes National Park – Lake Kivu
After breakfast, you will enjoy a morning boat ride on the lake and have a chance to see a variety of bird species and different water animals on the lake shore. Enjoy swimming at Serena Beach Hotel. You will enjoy dinner and your overnight stay at the Hotel.
Day 5: Kigali
You’ll be picked up at your hotel by our driver and take part in a Kigali city trip including a visit to the Genocide Memorial Centre at Gisozi. You will have a chance to interact with the local people; discovering the artisanal products (collars, bracelets, etc.) Then transfer back to Kigali Airport. This is where your safari will end.
